Real
Stories From Real People:
"I used to hate school. My teacher would talk
and talk and I would get very bored. When I got bored
I would either go to sleep, start picking on the other
kids, draw, sing, or daydream about not being in school.
I would get in trouble everyday at school. My teacher
thought that I was a bad kid and I thought she was
a bad teacher, because all she would do is talk and
give us worksheets to do. It wasn’t until my
parents got me into this program called IBSG that
I actually started to enjoy learning. My counselor
at IBSG would work with just me. Anytime I had a question
she took time to answer my question. I remember when
my schoolteacher gave me a writing assignment to complete
about the stars. I didn’t know what to write
and I didn’t remember what she said about the
stars in class that day. But when I went to IBSG after-school,
my counselor sat down with me and we went over all
there was to know about the stars, there was not one
thing that I didn’t know about stars. I even
got to make paper stars to go with my project. If
I don’t remember anything else I will always
remember what I learn at IBSG."
Program overview:
The Special Education program is offered to children
with learning disabilities. Our competent and qualified
specialists work diligently with schools and families
to assist these children with the help they need,
before and after school so it will not interrupt their
regular school day. Since each child is different
we work one-on-one to cater to that child’s
needs. One child may be a visual learner; another
child may need lecturing or hands-on-experience in
order to pick up the information that is required
of them. These children are our future and it is our
responsibility to lead them in right direction so
they may grow to be respectable citizens in our communities.
